Collaboration Protocol

How we work together — rules, rights, and responsibilities.

How to Initiate Collaboration

Prospective collaborators should reach out via our Contact page with a brief proposal (max 1 page) describing the shared scientific question, proposed methodology, and expected outputs. We respond to all inquiries within 2–3 weeks and schedule an exploratory video call before any formal agreement is drafted.

Data Sharing Rules

Data shared with external collaborators is governed by a Data Sharing Agreement (DSA) compliant with GDPR/KVKK. De-identified datasets are preferred. Open datasets are deposited on OpenNeuro or Zenodo under CC-BY 4.0 unless contractual constraints apply. Analysis scripts and processing pipelines are released on GitHub under MIT licence.

Authorship Policy

We follow the ICMJE criteria for authorship: substantial contribution to conception/design or acquisition/analysis/interpretation of data; drafting or critically revising the manuscript; final approval; and accountability for all aspects of the work. Contributor roles are documented using the CRediT taxonomy.

Ethics Statement

All research involving human participants requires ethical approval from the relevant institutional review board before data collection begins. Protocols are pre-registered on OSF or AsPredicted for confirmatory studies. Participants must provide written informed consent; data is pseudonymised at source.

Intellectual Property Policy

IP generated jointly is governed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreed prior to project start. Basic research outputs (papers, datasets, code) are published open access by default. For industry partnerships, IP provisions are negotiated separately and disclosed to all co-investigators.
